Invalid character value for cast specification

The purpose of this article is to provide a resolution for the message "Invalid Character For Cast Specification".

In most cases this is related to the format of the date. The date needs to be in the format: dd/mm/yyyy. This will come up when the format is dd-mm-yyyy

To resolve this, please follow these instructions:

1. Go to Control Panel - Regional settings (XP), or Control Panel - Clock, Language and Region - Region and Language (Windows 7 +)

2. Change the format to English (Australia) . If it is already this, change the short form date to dd/mm/yyyy
